Yup…this past April fools day was Joe and my 6 year anniversary.
And looking back I can honestly and vulnerably say that year #6 was the hardest and most strengthening yet.
It could just be the 3 growing boys that we decided to cram into 3 years. Or maybe year #6 is the pivotal year in many marriages…who knows.
But within the chaos of life Joe and I had quite a few good battles this past year that thankfully neither one of us won.
It was a year of growing more than ever before.
It was a year of learning more about marriage and selflessness than ever before.
It was a year of lots of highs and lots of lows.
And I can 100% say that there is no way we would have made it out without promising to eachother that our marriage was going to reflect Christ and that we will ALWAYS look to Him when the going gets rough.
We are so blessed by so many amazing examples of marriage in our lives.
So thank you…for being those lights to us.
We are so blessed by our jobs/ministries and the outlook that we have in both of them.
We are so blessed by our amazing boys and the light that they bring into our lives.
There is no one else I would fight so hard for, love so much of and not give up on than Joe.
He is my rock. Joe is my vessel.
“A marriage license does not make a marriage. It only gives you the right to begin building one.” – Dennis Rainey
We are building. Everyday we are building. Somedays we have rain delays…who am I kidding…many days we hit delays…but Lord knows we are building.
So here’s to many more years to look back on and be so thankful for the grace, protection & redefining love that God has blessed us with while we are here on earth!
I love you, Joe! You are THE most amazing man that I ever could have prayed for…thank you for living up to His calling on your life!
Amen.
