The Batterton’s -i do, i do-

kelly hornberger wedding

back to blog

It rained ALL morning.  The Omni was a buzz with the wedding party.  Though, every drop still made the day fun with some swimming in the rain, getting to and from hair/make-up appointments…even getting to the church on time.  Then the sky’s cleared.  It was BEAUTIFUL outside.  The rest of the day the clouds gave off an amazing backdrop, teasing us with more weather, but not really ever delivering.  Chelsie and Andrew were so excited to see eachother.  Sending eachother cute little notes and anxiously anticipating the walk down the aisle.  Chelsie’s mom and dad were over the moon in getting her dressed and seeing their beautiful little girl so happy to see her man.  Sweet moments throughout the entire morning.  Little tears, holding hands, it was all so precious.  And Andrew’s smile.  100% contagious!  It did not stop the entire day.  He was so happy to be where he was amongst amazing family and friends and about to marry his sweetheart.

The day went off without a hitch.  Then the party went late into the night.  What a great group of people who surround this sweet couple.  Claire and I had a GREAT time getting to be there amongst them all.  Thank you for having us Banes & Batterton’s.  What a great night!!

Some of Chelsie & Andrew’s memories from the day:
Q. What was your favorite part about the wedding?

A. Chelsie – watching Andrew’s face as I walked down the aisle and then him raising his fist in the air when we were finally able to kiss

Andrew – seeing all of our friends and family together and the food at The Wynden

Q. What was one quirky of crazy thing that happened on your wedding day?

A.Same for both Chelsie and Andrew – when Andrew went to pull my garter off and whispered in my ear “please don’t be mad at me” and then he pulled out a huge pair of granny panties from underneath my dress and threw them at the single guys. I was humiliated, but then he did pull of my real garter and threw it.

Q. What was the most special moment on your wedding day?

A. Chelsie – after Andrew and I were pronounced husband and wife and started walking down the aisle, I stopped and kissed my dad, and I was so and still am so appreciative for everything he has ever done for me.

Andrew – when I saw Chelsie walking down the aisle and we held hands during the whole ceremony

Q.  Did you do anything yourself?

A. I made the seating chart on the cork board and all of the signs in the picture frames myself (ex: don’t be blinded by our love). The his and her drink sign with ingredients. Also…I found the bird cage and made the sign that went on it…all the signs in frames I made and the picture of my puppy. Also, the photo props were me and my sisters

Q. Where will you be as a couple in five years? Hopes, dreams, kids, etc.?

A. In five years, we hope to be as madly in love with each other as we are now, extremely fit (Andrew), with several kids, and driving a mini van (Andrew again…he will be driving it if we ever have one because I will never drive one.  We plan on staying close with our families and friends and making more friends that we will grow old with. We want to travel and be able to take our kids to places we have never been and raise our children the way we were raised and to be the best people that they can be

Q. What do you look forward to the most about being married?

A. We look forward to having someone to come home to every night. To having someone to keep us warm when we are cold,to having someone to take care of us when we are sick, and wipe our tears when we are sad. We look forward to growing old with each other and seeing how we change as we get older. Since we have known each other since we were 12, it is exciting to see how much we change even now from the first time we met. We look forward to raising a family and being parents and one day grandparents. We know that marriage won’t always be easy and perfect, but we also know that neither of us are perfect but in the end, we need to communicate and listen to each. We need to be there for each through thick and thin, sickness and health, and the hard times and the good times. We look forward to falling even more in love with each other (if that is even possible)
