Abel & Lorena -i do, i do-

What do you do when two of THE SWEETEST people EVER ask you to be there to document their special day!  You are honored!

Abel’s amazing smile can light up any room.  And his smile never ceases whenever his Lorena is around.

Lorena is perfectly poised and beautifully present.  She floats into rooms and makes all around her better for being there.

These two are going to be awesome to watch grow into a sweet family who prays together, loves all around them and serves to the best of their abilities and Joe and I were honored to get to be a part of it all!

Some of Lorena & Abel’s memories from the day:
Q. What was your favorite part about the wedding?

   A. We both agree that our favorite part of the wedding was during the ceremony when we would look at each other feeling like “Hey! This is it! We’re getting married!!” Just thinking about that makes me relive those moments so vividly.

I have to add a personal favorite moment was pre-ceremony when Abel was blindfolded and guided over by his sister to the room where I was waiting. He was reaching out for my hand so we could pray together and instead of waiting behind the door so I wouldn’t see him, I decided to step out and reach for his hand. It was such a great feeling because even though we didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, holding his strong hand and watching his beautiful peaceful smile was simply perfect.

  Q. What was one quirky or crazy thing that happened on your wedding day?

  A. We prayed ahead of time for peace and joy during our wedding day, and our friends and family were great about taking care of those small unexpected moments.

  Q. What was the most special moment on your wedding day?

    A.  We agree that the most special moment during our wedding day was our first dance as husband and wife! It was the perfect song to describe our love for each other and we both reminisced on the moment we first heard it together knowing our love would only continue to grow.

Q. Did you do anything yourself?

A. Yes, I spent a lot of time pre-wedding working on small things that made the experience more personal.

The most important things I worked on were my shoes and my bouquet. I found the perfect shoes months before the wedding. They were beautiful, comfortable and the perfect height that even allowed the hem of my dress to be untouched. But they were ivory, and to my dismay I found out that ivory shoes cannot be dyed white. So I bought white lace and added it to my ivory shoes, allowing me to wear them with my white dress!

Another major DIY was my veil. My mother made her own when she got married and she wanted to make mine as well. It took her many hours to add the lace and embellishments, and it turned out gorgeous!

  Q. What do you look forward to most about being married?

  A. L: Not having to say good bye every evening and watch him leave!
A: Spending more time together

 Q. Where do you hope you will you be as a couple in five years?

 A. Where ever the Lord takes us and hopefully with a baby Gonzales on the way!
