Some of James & Carly’s memories from the day:
Q. What was your favorite part about the wedding?
A. Our favorite part was having all of our family and friends together in the same place! We were overwhelmed with love and it was very humbling to see how many of our friends and family took the time to be there for our special day. We are forever grateful!
Q. What was one quirky or crazy thing that happened on your wedding day?
A. Out of the 10 groomsmen and 4 ushers, everyone got the right vests, ties, shirts, ect….except for one! One of our ushers got a white vest instead of a khaki one. For the pictures with the groomsmen, someone had a pretty smart idea of having James wear the white vest and Harris (the usher) wear James’ khaki vest so he would match the rest of the groomsmen. James tried on the white vest only to find that it was a few sizes too small! Kelly was AWESOME and captured this moment….it made for some pretty funny pictures!!
Q. What was the most special moment on your wedding day?
A. Besides getting married and being surrounded by family and friends, I would say the most special part was the rain! Yes, that sounds crazy, but here’s why: It rained ALL DAY on our wedding day. As the time passed and the ceremony time got closer and closer, I was afraid we would have to move our ceremony inside. If you look at the pictures of our venue, you will see that the outside ceremony site makes the venue what it is: truly breathtaking! I was calm and my bridesmaids did a great job of distracting me…until it was time to get my makeup done. It started POURING….thunder and all! That’s when the tears started flowing. I got a hold of myself and my bridesmaids closed the blinds so I couldn’t look at it…I wasn’t backing down, the ceremony would be outside even if we got soaked! It rained off and on and our poor guests arrived with their umbrellas. My coordinator came to me and said that the weather radar showed a little gap in rain cells, and that if we were doing it outside, it had to happen NOW! So everything started- wedding party walked out in the drizzle, flower girls and ring bearers looked so cute looking up at the rain trying to figure out was it was….and then, it was my turn! It was like magic, as soon as my dad and I started walking down the aisle the sun came out, and I was told there was a rainbow! It was like it hadn’t been raining at all! The sun stayed out the entire ceremony and made for some amazing pictures! I knew that God was really looking out for me- it was like He had planned for my big entrance to be even more spectacular! His love definitely shined through during our ceremony, which made it more special than I could have ever imagined!
Q. Where will you be as a couple in five years? Hopes, dreams, kids, etc.?
A. In 5 years we would like to have started a family of our own! Our biggest hope and dream is just to continue to be happy and to be surrounded by our family and friends- that’s what life is all about!
Q. What do you look forward to most about being married?
A. Being able to spend our lives together. I love that we get to see each other every day and kiss each other goodnight every night! I love that I have my best friend to experience this crazy life together. I can’t wait to grow old together and see what God has is store for our future! We are so blessed!
