Laura & Christian
“Soak in every single moment. We both tried to stop and take it all in because we couldn’t believe we were the ones finally getting married,” is the advice Laura and Christian would give to couples on their wedding day!
Their Houston Country Club wedding in March was full of colorful spring florals and unique details like the surprise El Paso room. They had their wedding ceremony at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and the reception was at the HCC.
Wedding Day at Houston Country Club
On the day of the wedding, everyone in the wedding party got ready at the country club. Laura wore an Anne Barge wedding dress with a custom-made bolero by Laura’s Couture in Houston. It turned out perfect! For the reception, Laura took off the bolero for an easy outfit change and Christian changed into a white dinner jacket.
When both Laura and Christian were ready they had a sweet first look together. We took portraits of the them and the wedding party before heading to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church for the ceremony.
Reflecting on their favorite parts of the wedding day, Laura said, “Our ceremony was so sweet and special and something I will never forget. Christian and I were overcome with gratitude and love when our pastor asked us to look behind us at all our friends and family that had gathered to celebrate our marriage. It was surreal.”
After the ceremony, everyone headed to the Houston Country Club for the reception!
Wedding Reception at Houston Country Club
The El Paso Room was a favorite part of the reception and was fun to create for everyone involved! Laura and her mom came up with the concept of The El Paso Room as an ode to the groom and his family. Laura kept it a secret from Christian and was excited to show it to him! Not only did Christian and his family love it, but the room was also a hit with the guests!
As guests walked into The El Paso room, they saw the glowing neon sign with “Viva los Browns” above the bar where they could choose from three different tequila-based cocktails. The room was bright and colorful with custom napkins, special glassware, an Otomi print bar, a lime wall, and equipale chairs.
The vibrant decor of The El Paso Room flowed into the main reception space with colorful spring florals decorating the tables and lining the dance floor. As the reception began, Laura and Christian shared their first dance to the upbeat and classic sounds of “Everlasting Love” by Love Affair.
As the night went on, Laura and Christian joined the band on stage for a few songs, which they highly recommend doing! They shared a final dance before their exit. Guests showered them with flower petals as they made their way to the getaway car and drove away!
The KHP Experience
Here are the kind words that Laura and Christian shared about their experience working with our team:
“Kelly and her team are so amazing! They make you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera to genuinely capture your wedding day. So much planning goes into a wedding and the photos and the memories are the only thing you have to take with you once you drive away! There are some memories we will never forget – like turning back and looking at all of our family and friends crowded into the church pews at our ceremony or our first dance – but we also know some memories fade and we can’t remember everything. That is why Christian and I are are beyond grateful to have so many details, sweet moments, laughs and crazy dance moves captured that we can revisit for years to come!”
We are so thankful to have been a part of Laura and Christian’s wedding weekend! Viva los Browns!
