Molly & Isaac
Part One: Getting Ready and the Ceremony
We’ve never done an entire blog series on a single wedding before, but there was simply no other way to do this day justice! Make sure to read parts Two and Three as well, to see the full scope of this amazing day.
Not only was this sweet couple and family such a JOY to work with, but they also hosted an absolutely incredible party that was so much fun to document!
Wedding in Dallas
They worked with the lovely, talented team at Engaged Events to create the day of their dreams at Molly’s childhood home. No detail was overlooked, and the guest experience was unparalleled!
Read on for all of Molly’s insight into their fairytale wedding, and check out the behind-the-scenes photos at the bottom of this post to see a bit of how the vendor team of creative and logistical geniuses transformed this private residence into a luxury event venue.
Getting Ready
Molly planned and enjoyed a relaxed getting ready timeline with her bridesmaids and said, “I was really nervous about the day flying by that I wouldn’t get to enjoy it. I felt that I was able to slow down and soak in every moment. I think a big part of that was being able to have a slow morning, I would recommend that to anyone!”
The Dress
“I added a body suit to the dress underneath. My mom’s dress was similar to the dress from The Parent Trap. I always wanted a dress similar, so I added a body suit to the Lela gown, and my wonderful seamstress added cuffs from the extra fabric from my gown to match my mom’s. Then we added the pearl buttons; these were original to my moms gown! I also added pearls to the top of my veil. Those were directly from my moms gown as well.”
First Look
The couple chose a private first look and gift exchange, which not only allowed them some time alone together, but also let them take care of formal photos before the ceremony and join their guests at the reception almost immediately afterward!
Gifts
“Isaac made me a custom sculpture of me and my horse Bana. It was so wonderfully done; she got all the details perfect and it really does look just like him! I got him a First Edition Copy of William Wilberforce’s “A Practical View of the Prevailing Religious System of Professed Christians, in the Higher and Middle Classes in this Country, Contrasted with Real Christianity”. It is his favorite author and I surprised him completely. I also needlepointed him a “Letters to my Love” and had it finished in a cartonnage box to store our love letters. Isaac is a very talented writer and writes me some of the most beautiful letters and poems.”
The Ceremony
Molly said she “loved our circle ceremony and that our groomsman and bridesmaids surrounded us, and we also had a special place for family to sit. It was more structured for them so there were no empty rows or spots. The photos of this turned out amazing and we loved being able to make a little eye contact with all our family and friends.”
Behind the Scenes
While the bride and groom enjoyed a relaxing morning, the vendor team was hard at work bringing the space to life!
