White-Floral-Filled Ceremony & Reception at The Houstonian

We love a gorgeous spring wedding, and Randy & Michelle’s white-floral-filled ceremony and reception at The Houstonian was the perfect way to kick off wedding season in Texas!

The couple wanted the whole space to feel inviting, comfortable, and filled with love, and they worked with Kelley Lockridge at Belle Events to achieve just that!

The Dress

Michelle actually fell in love with two separate Anne Barge gowns, so combined them to make her perfect custom princess dress!  To complete her look, she had the lace appliqués from her mom’s wedding shoes applied to her bouquet, and wore her sister’s veil.

The Design

Between Bergner and Johnson’s elegant all-white-floral design that carried throughout the day for a cohesive feel, the flower girls and ring bearers with their bubble guns, and the beer burros at cocktail hour, this wedding truly radiated love and light-hearted joy at every turn.

For the reception, Randy & Michelle chose a seated dinner to give the feel of an elevated dinner party as though they had invited everyone into their home for Christmas dinner!

The Cake

We’re not sure we’ve ever been more excited about a groom’s cake: Randy requested a cookie cake and Michelle happily obliged.  Does it get any better than alternating layers of chocolate chip cookie and buttercream frosting?!

Their regular cake was half milk chocolate and half butter cake with chocolate ganache filling – amazing in its own right – and the smooth, clean design perfectly complemented the rest of the reception space.

Advice From the Bride & Groom

For other soon-to-be-married couples, Michelle said her best advice is to “enjoy the process, but allow your vendors to do what they do best, you hired them for a reason just trust them.”

Kind Words for KH Collective

“Glenna and Aric were just so much fun, the day never felt too serious and I felt they really brought that calming fun energy.”
