The whole morning was a little gloomy. The threat of not being about to ski-lift to the top of the mountain loomed all around them. But Tarah was not too phased. She was calm, just like her normal self.
And right at the perfect moment the sun came out and the timing was amazing for a ride to the top for everyone included in the wedding. It was a long ride. A ride of such peace and calm.
As we reached the top the view was incredible looking back down on the town of Beaver Creek. We hurried in and got Tarah dressed. The boys arrived right on time and Jeff was all smiles.
The sounds of a string quartet echoed off the mountain side as guests began to filter in. The clouds started to loom again.
As the ceremony started Tarah was escorted down the aisle by her late father’s best friend and everyone could not stop smiling. She looked AMAZING.
The downhill trek to where Jeff stood overlooked one of the most scenic views I have ever photographed for a wedding ceremony.
As Tarah and Jeff said their vows the thought of her dad loomed with the clouds, and as Claire, her sister, predicted it rained HARD in the middle of their ceremony and then cleared right back up again as soon as they were man and wife. Almost as if Tarah’s dad shed some happy tears looking proudly down on his daughter”s from heaven. It was chilling at the thought of how perfectly it timed itself out.
The rest of the day was filled with a scenic ride back down the mountain and a sweet party back in Vail with the most epic silly string exit ever.
Tarah & Jeff…it was AWESOME. I am still in awe of how much a blessing it was to be with you all in those amazing locations at those pivotal points in your lives.
Katie, my adorable cousin and AWESOME second shooter, and I had a BLAST!!
Some of Tarah & Jeff’s memories from the day:
Q. What was your favorite part about the wedding?
A. Our favorite part of the wedding was riding the chair lift down the mountain after the ceremony. We got to spend some time alone together after the ceremony.
Q. What was one quirky or crazy thing that happened on your wedding day?
A. It rained right in the middle of the ceremony. It was clear for us to walk down the aisle and then it cleared up again right after we were announced! We also think that the silly string finale was a little crazy!
Q. What was the most special moment on your wedding day?
A. When we said our vows to each other.
Q. Did you do anything yourself?
A. We made the table numbers, the wine charm favors, the wine cork board. The wine charms were favors that were pinned to the cork board with peoples table numbers.
Q. Where do you hope you will you be as a couple in five years?
A. We will hopefully have a couple of kids while continuing to enjoy the Colorado outdoors with Tanner.
