I could not do any better jutsice to these two cuties ADORABLE story then the bride did herself…so forgive me for quoting, but I just couldn’t help myself:
“We actually met years ago – probably in 2006 – through a group of mutual friends. We went out as a group a few times, including New Year’s Eve (pic above), and had a couple lunch dates one on one. Very casual. I guess it just wasn’t our time and we lost touch in early 2007.
But for some reason I kept – and still have – the Christmas card Eric gave me in 2006.
Fast Forward to 2010 and one night in late July. Eric was out with his friends, and I was out with a group of girls for a friend’s bachelorette party. We all happened to end up at the same place. Making the most of bachelorette festivities, I was pretty certain I’d never see Eric again. Luckily for me, he answered my email the following week and we had our first date a few weeks later… at the restaurant where he would eventually propose.”
This SUPER AWESOME couple got hitched at the BEAUTIFUL Lost Pines Resort in the hill country of Texas and my sweet friend, Rusty, and I had an AWESOME time getting to be there to document it all. The super calm and confident style of Katie & Eric was so apparent throughout the entire day. Katie & Eric’s sweet Mia was watching her mama get ready all morning amongst the hustle and bustle of Katie’s beautiful friends and family. The boys hung out and enjoyed the resort and the time before Katie & Eric made it official.
A beautiful day was the backdrop. Not a cloud in the sky…and when the night fell and the twinkle lights came on we celebrated with drinks, dancing, some late night bonfire and an EPIC bubble exit with “had the time of my life” blasting in the bacground.
Some of Katie & Eric’s memories from the day:
Q. What was your favorite part about the wedding?
A. Besides being blessed with PERFECT weather, my favorite part was the ceremony. Saying our vows and hearing our six month old daughter Maya singing behind us made it absolutely perfect.
Q. What was one quirky or crazy thing that happened on your wedding day?
A. Our pastor slipped up and called me Stacy at one point during the ceremony. He was mortified, and apologized profusely later, but we thought it was pretty funny. Also, one of my bridesmaids forgot to eat all day, so she got faint and fell over after the ceremony! Right after Eric and I walked down the aisle and up the hill. Luckily, she was fine and got right back up to rally for the reception. We fed her shortly thereafter.
Q. What was the most special moment on your wedding day?
Walking down the (very long and graveled) aisle, and seeing Eric standing there waiting on me. All the chaos and stress of planning finally disappeared and it sunk in that this moment was truly about us, and all the other stuff just didn’t matter.
Also, our exit was pretty phenomenal. It was quite a high to run out amidst all our friends and family, who were all there cheering for us as a couple.
Q. Did you do anything yourself?
A. My wonderful mom put our entire signing table together and handmade nearly everything on it. There were so many special things on that table, like a runner my grandmother had made, and some pictures of Eric, Maya and I…. it was one of my favorite things at our reception.
Q. What do you look forward to most about being married?
A. Growing as a couple and growing our family. We are truly blessed with the most beautiful daughter, and we can’t wait to expand our little threesome.
Q. Where do you hope you will you be as a couple in five years?
A. We hope to be blessed with at least two children, and we look forward to growing together as a family – traveling, making traditions…. just living and enjoying life. Our one hope is that we all stay healthy, and we hope to cherish our years as a family because we know they’ll go fast!
