Some of Michelle & JP’s memories from the day:
Q. What was your favorite part about the wedding?

A. My favorite part about the wedding was the ceremony. It was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends as we became husband and wife. We wrote our stories of how we fell in love and had his dad read them, and it was really special and fun to hear each other’s version and to share our story with everyone there. We also got very lucky and had a beautiful blue sky, cool evening with the sun setting through the trees behind us. It felt intimate and romantic to us even though we had so many awesome guests. It really was everything I had imagined.

Q. What was one quirky or crazy thing that happened on your wedding day?

A. Haha well my mom is incredible and wanted everything to be perfect for the wedding- which is great. However, the day of the wedding (on the way to the ceremony actually) she was told that all of the candles she bought for the tables at the reception weren’t allowed to be lit without a candle holder around them (and it was of the utmost importance to her that the candles be lit). So she called her sisters and had them go buy several glass candle holders and rush them to the venue, and then had all of our groomsmen and bridesmaids taking off the stickers on them for the hour before the ceremony… while I don’t care about lit candles, they did look beautiful, so thanks mom!

Q. What was the most special moment on your wedding day?

A. The most special part of the wedding day was getting to hear each other’s story about how we fell in love and say our vows to become husband and wife- it was so joyful.

Q. Did you do anything yourself?

A. There ended up being more things we did ourselves than I had originally planned, which was great.

My sister-in-law, Callie, painted all of the signs that were used inside and outside of the reception/ceremony.

My mom bought multiple picture frames for all of the tables at the reception, and put our engagement pictures or pictures from when we were kids in them.

My mom also bought hundreds of candles to put throughout all of the tables to help create the romantic feel I was going for.

My dad and brothers spent days putting up all of the lights and fun decorations outside the reception hall.

JP and I tag-teamed our wedding programs. We both spent a lot of time making those, and we are not the creative type, so it was an interesting experience

Q. What do you look forward to most about being married?

A. Making memories and stories together! It is so fun to know that we will be spending holidays, vacations, weekends, and everything together for the rest of our lives. It’s fun to dream together and know that wherever we end up, we will be there together.

Q. Where will you be as a couple in five years?

A. I think the biggest accomplishment we could have as a couple in five years would be to be more in love then than we are today.
In terms of where we will be in a more practical sense, it depends who you ask. In five years, I would LOVE to have baby Johnnys running around and be living in a house near family or several close friends. If you ask John Paul, however, we will be living in a high rise downtown in some big city… we will see
