As we head into what seems like month 37 of social distancing, and many of you may be trying to figure out how to rewrite the plans for your dream day, I found some intimate wedding inspo that I’d love to share with you!
Whether you’ve canceled, postponed and are rescheduling, or are newly engaged and starting planning from scratch, I want to encourage you that it IS still possible to have a dream wedding! Hopefully some of these ideas will help you figure out exactly how.
The first suggestion, by expert connection service Carats & Cake, may be my favorite: if you’re paring down your guest list, consider hosting your wedding at home. Every space likely has sentimental value and holds sweet memories, which can only make your big day even more special.
“There is nothing more intimate than saying I-DO at your home (or your childhood home). A familiar layout, a sense of decor and nostalgic photo backdrops will make any wedding day that much more special. If you are considering a smaller guest list, think of transitioning your big day to a private residence for added sentiment.” -Jenny Schneider Events
The entire beautiful scene was photographed by Allison & Matt Edge of The Edges Wed.
Another fabulous suggestion by Carats & Cake: create a stunning aisle — like the ones pictured above and below — to add drama and beauty to your entrance!
If a wedding in wide-open spaces isn’t your thing, or just isn’t possible, check out this amazing social distancing wedding in Brooklyn, NY, held on the front stoop of the couple’s brownstone! According to the bride, “It was beyond dreamy and elevated the entire visual experience.”
The full celebration is highlighted in Vogue Weddings, Lewis Miller Design is responsible for all the floral beauty, and photos are by Micaiah Carter.
Still hoping for that jaw-dropping reception? Think about a luxuriously set table for a seated dinner in your favorite outdoor spot. I’m still completely obsessed with this creation from Bubbles and Bowties Aspen, and Flower and Vine, with the Rocky Mountains as the backdrop!

The last idea, and one that I really love…a destination wedding with a small guest list, like this Tuscan gorgeousness featured in Style Me Pretty!
This couple’s Italian dream wedding was designed by Italian wedding planner “Happening” (www.happening.it) and photographed by Laura Gordon.
No matter where you end up saying “I do”, I hope your day is everything you and your fiancé want it to be! I’d love to know…what’s your dream “intimate wedding” style & location?
