Madi & Chris have the sweetest love story, and we were smitten from the very beginning. They met in 2016 while working as counselors at Camp Periwinkle, an AMAZING camp for kids with cancer.

They truly connected during their second summer working at the camp, and then each went back to their respective colleges in the fall: Madi to Vanderbilt, and Chris to UT. They dated long distance for 2.5 years and then got engaged in December 2023 when Chris proposed AT Camp Periwinkle!

Their wedding day was a perfect expression of their love for each other, full of both sentimental, and whimsical details, and expertly planned by Mallory Ferreira of R+M Weddings.

Design & Details

Madi has loved the color pink ever since she was a little girl, so it was no surprise to Chris when she wanted it to be their main wedding color, and he gladly got on board! From the bridesmaid dresses to the florals, to Madi’s second look (a sequined pink mini dress and and sparkly sneakers), the pink theme was carried tastefully throughout the entire day!

For her dress, the bride said she found it “at Ivory [Atelier] back in January of 2024 with my two best friends (my MOHs), my mom, and my Aunt Susie. It was the first one I put on and we all cried. We all knew it was the one. We knew we had to have the matching veil. I knew I wanted a long train. My mom and dad gifted me my jewelry from LLJ a few weeks before the wedding right before I did my bridal portraits – it was such a special and beautiful gift. I wore my mom’s lace garter. I also knew I wanted to be comfy all night and that because of the style of my dress we wouldn’t be able to see my shoes, so I went with flats! And of course they had to be pink!”

And Chris couldn’t let Madi be alone with her outfit change, so he opted to put on his Jordan’s during the reception (they were NOT pink)!

The couple found some pockets of time together during the day thanks to their planner scheduling in the first look, and the private dinner during cocktail hour that they opted for. They were so glad they ate, and incredibly thankful for the moments alone to connect with each other and soak in everything that was happening! Madi also had incredibly sweet first looks with her dad, brother, and bridesmaids, and they are some of our favorite reaction photos!

For the cake they chose “a delicious sour cream vanilla classic wedding cake, and the design was a gorgeous tiered cake with pink floral design to match our theme. [The] groom’s cake was Astros themed – dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache! Chris has always been a huge baseball fan and played baseball from the time he was 6 years old all through elementary, middle, high school and college.”

We second Madi & Chris’s advice to other couples who are planning their weddings: “Trust your vendors. Enjoy every moment. Be thankful. Take mental snapshots. Be as present as you can during the planning process and wedding.”
