The very first time I ever met Caroline was watching her out on the court at a Rice VB game.  She was so full of energy.  She loved cheering on her girls.  She got so excited and was not at all afraid to show it.
Times have not changed at all, even in a situation like her wedding day.  She has got to be one of them most expressive people I have ever met…top it off with one of the most beautiful, it sure does make for some fun pictures.
Joe and I were sooooooo honored to be asked to come all the way to Fairhope, AL to get to be there for Caroline and Lucas’ sweet wedding weekend.  We were able to trek the whole family out for the awesome time, and we had a blast staying at the beautiful Grand Hotel there on the point of the bay.
No detail was left unnoticed.  The planning, the florals, the parties, the details…it was all so beautiful, but I have to say, the most memorable part for me was their ceremony.  Incredible short and sweet, but the pastor could not help himself from complimenting this amazing couple.  These two LOVE the Lord.  Joe and I ADORE that about them.  They would take up the cross for anyone else along with themselves every single day, if they could.  Two amazing servants hearts.  It has been the most awesome journey to watch their entire relationship play out at Rice in our FCA group.  The impact that these two make on those around them is unmistakable.  Even those brief words used by the pastor that day made an impact in just talking about them.
How awesome.  What a legacy.
The day was hot, humid and anything else you can imagine from Alabama in August.  But it was still perfect.  The clouds rolled in on our way from taking the girls from the hotel to the chapel, and it poured at the beginning of the ceremony and while the guests were filing in, but that didn’t stop chivalrous men from helping out lady’s and getting drenched themselves…I love the south!
Then the rain let up just perfectly to allow for everyone to make their way to the hotel for the awesome reception.
It was a Sunday night party, but the band was rockin’ and these friends and family love to dance, so what an incredible night we had.

Some of Caroline’s memories from the day:
