This was me and Joe on some incredibly blessed 24 hours of R&R.  After a beautiful wedding in Cancun this past weekend we were lucky enough to tack on an extra two days to sleep.  Literally that is all we did…except for when we woke up to eat…and fit in a couple games of tennis.  After thinking it through the last opportunity we had to do something like that was probably the last time we were in Cancun shooting Kara & Brandon’s wedding.  (that blog post is so old I could not even find it on my blog anymore) It had to have been almost 4-5 years ago.

It’s so funny how times change.  After our wedding we could not wait to get to our honeymoon and explore.  We are not typically beach people…we desire to go and see, which is why we went to Greece for our honeymoon.  We also usually tack on extra days of working weddings to hang with friends or explore those destinations as well.  However…this current stage of life is loving the occasional getaway to a beautiful tropical location to sleep the day away.  Sad, but true.  Not one bathing suit was slipped on.  No pool was entered.  I think our feet touched the ocean one time. I know you beach people are just cringing.

However here we are.  Back in the swing of things, but thankful for some time to spend with just eachother…going to meals WHENEVER we wanted, with ONLY adult conversation, and sitting at the table for HOWEVER long we desired.  What a great get away to get sleep in the morning knowing that a little boy is not about to come in any moment “mommy…daddy…”

Love them?!?  Heck yes.  Enjoy being away from them every once in a while together…it’s CRUCIAL!
