Austin & Nov 2nd thankfulness

back to blog

Today I head to beautiful Austin, TX for a shoot tomorrow morning and some sweet hang time with some amazing girls tonight!  Much needed girl time.  I will be missing my boys back here like something fierce, but getting away to just be a girl or to just be alone does wonders my soul.  Always.  I love my boys…but man….they are all boy :-).  hehehe

I am so thankful for Joe and his flexibility to be an amazing dad in these moments for my work.  It’s a full weekend of work for me coming up too.  Yup, like I have said before…the weekends are not free when you are a photographer…especially in the wedding industry.  But I gladly pay that price, because I truly love what I get to do.  How many people get to say that?  Thank you all for trusting me with your families and your memories.  I cannot wait to show off the amazing family sessions I have done over the past weeks.  So much black and white film goodness…and some amazing digital moments.  I’ll throw some sneaky-sneaks up here soon.  I have a couple more family sessions this weekend as well and then it off to CA next weekend for a wedding and another Houston wedding the weekend after that.  Thanksgiving is going to be here before we even know it.  Can I get an amen?

I LOVE THE FALL.  I especially love November and December.  Beginning of Nov brings some sweet days of Thankfulness.  We usually like to hang a banner above the fireplace or on the stairwell with hand written thankfulness notes from each day of the month.  Nov. 2nd…well…I guess it’s time to get that out of the box, huh???  What traditions does that bring for yall?  I would LOVE to know.

Today’s thankfulness note:  (that I need to write out and hang up)

My incredible husband, his sacrifices for me and the vulnerability of his life that allow me to forgive and love him more than I ever have before.  Gosh I love you Joe Hornberger.  All your good, your bad and your SUPER ugly.  I choose to love you.  Thank you for doing the same for me.
