Elizabeth & Chris
Elizabeth and Chris’ Houston Wedding at Hotel Zaza was a sophisticated, flower wonderland! These two high school sweethearts created a wedding day that was elegant, timeless, and one heck of a party! I just love these two and was so happy to be a part of their May wedding in Houston!
How Elizabeth described her favorite part of their wedding day is what I hope all of my couples experience on their big day: “ My favorite part of my wedding day was honestly seeing everyone we love in one room. Especially with Covid, the entire time planning you never knew what was gonna happen. . . .To actually see all the planning come together and see everyone having so much fun, is something I’ll always hold near and dear to my heart. Everyone there just had so much love for Chris and I!”
Houston Wedding at Hotel Zaza
I was constantly blown away by the details, thoughtfulness, and attention Elizabeth put into their entire wedding experience. Timeless is how Elizabeth described their wedding day and I believe they nailed it. Colors of white, ivory, natural greenery, and sage pulled all their wedding details together.
Elizabeth always knew she wanted a classic wedding dress look of sleeves and a high neckline. Elizabeth’s mom was able to add pieces of her own wedding dress and pieces from Elizabeth grandmother’s dress into her dress. Her mom also added two feet to the train of the dress and to the veil as well. It was STUNNING! For the reception, Elizabeth changed into a very chic gown that allowed her to feel comfortable out on the dance floor!
Wedding Ceremony at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church
Elizabeth and Chris had their wedding ceremony at St. Martin’s Episcopal in Houston. In St. Martin’s courtyard, Chris was set-up for his first look with Elizabeth. It was the perfect spot for a first look and allowed them to have a few private moments together. He was completely blown away by her dress! After the wedding ceremony, everyone headed back to Hotel Zaza to celebrate the night away.
Hotel Zaza Houston Wedding
When guests entered the reception space at Hotel Zaza they were greeted by beautiful florals flowing throughout the space from the entry way to the tables. Chris’ career as a merchant mariner inspired the various nautical details such as the edible drink toppers, the cake designed after Chris’ work boat, and their first dance to the song “Somewhere Beyond the Sea.”
During their last song, confetti cannons went off and covered the dance floor with a layer confetti. Elizabeth had completely forgotten about the cannons, so it was so fun to see how surprised and in awe her and Chris were! As guests filtered outside for their wedding exit, Elizabeth and Chris shared a private last dance on a confetti covered dance floor. With cold spark fireworks lining the driveway, they headed off into the night!
I am so thankful to have gotten to spend a whirlwind weekend with such a sweet couple!
Houston Wedding Weekend
Elizabeth and Chris started off their wedding weekend with a bridal luncheon at St. Regis and a rehearsal dinner the evening before at the Ransom Room in Hotel Zaza. You don’t want to miss out on their fabulous outfits!
