Mimi & Alan
Mimi and Alan’s Texas Winter Wedding at Lake McQueeney was literally blooming with color! Lake McQueeney is a special place to Mimi and her family. Mimi’s great grandparents started the Lake Breeze Ski Lodge in 1945. The lake property had been Mimi’s favorite place since she was a little girl and she dreamed of one day getting married there!! In February 2021, Mimi’s dream of a lake wedding day came to life.
Texas Winter Wedding at Lake McQueeney
Their winter wedding at Lake McQueeney featured a whimsical winding flower aisle leading down to an altar on the dock. The reception space was filled with greenery and tables decorated with floral bouquets with pops of pink and vibrant colored blooms. Mimi and Alan’s first dance took place on a pink checkered dance floor underneath a ceiling of suspended flowers. To end the night, Mimi and Alan had their last dance with “You are the Best Thing” playing in the background. In classic lake fashion they hopped on a getaway boat for their wedding exit and took off across the lake! Alan and Mimi’s lake wedding truly seemed like a fairytale!
Advice from the Bride
If Mimi could give advice to other couples planning their wedding, she would tell them, “Soak up every second because it really does go by so fast. You always hear this, but you never really think it will happen to you- be prepared… things will go wrong, but you just need to roll with the punches and embrace that you are marrying your favorite human.”
Mimi and Alan’s wedding actually happened at the start of the great Texas Snowpocalypse of 2021. Despite the frigid temperatures, guests were so excited to celebrate such a wonderful couple! Wedding guests arrived bundled up and Kiran and Leigh made sure they were taken care of and offered hot toddies to warm up!

These two will be celebrating their one year anniversary on February 13, 2022! I’m wishing them a huge congrats as they enter a new chapter of life with a baby on the way! Happy first anniversary to Mimi & Alan!
