New York Meets Texas, at Houston Country Club

Allison shared all about the ideas and intentionality behind her design with us: “Yellow is such a happy color. I love light blue (who doesn’t). My sister (aka maid of honor) thought to do touches of lavender. Just wanted to do something different and steer away from the typical light blue and green weddings we always see!

Blooming Gallery crushed it. Scott said “let’s bring the outdoors inside with us” and after that it all came together. We loved the tree during cocktail hour to start, then the surprise of the two fountains on the dance floor once the doors opened. With Kelly, we did engagement photos in Central Park in front of the fountains and I loved the continuation of fountains into the wedding. The fact they were on top of bar highs insinuated, put your drink down and dance! The open white dance floor really kept things delicate and simple, while helping the flowers pop. Couldn’t be happier with it and the fact the yellow peonies came in was just an added bonus!”

The Wedding Day Looks

There’s almost always a fun story behind our bride’s wedding day ensembles, and this one was no different! “Wedding gown is Oscar De La Renta and very very simple, with intricate hand-stitched detailing that I loved. They don’t really remember what collection it’s from and I couldn’t find it anywhere online too, which I thought made it even neater! It’s NOT at all what I expected to love but it fit me very well and the detailing was gorgeous. Found the dress at the first appointment we had and instantly knew based on my mom’s reaction. We went with the matching veil. The after party dress is also Oscar De La Renta. We wanted it to feel like an extension of the first dress, and a fun continuation into the darker/more adult after party vibe. Chanel tan heels were a fun touch. 😉

All jewelry were our grandmothers. I wanted to honor my family somehow and the fact my staple pieces were all our families was truly a blessing. My earrings were “something borrowed” from Tami Dyer, Allison’s maternal grandmother. My “something blue” was the blue ring from Allison’s maternal grandmother, Gran Ann, who has passed. My engagement ring was Josh’s maternal grandmother “Bubby’s” ring. He kept it a surprise for the engagement and Allison loved it immediately!!

Josh, believe it or not, kind of went all out on his tux. He got a custom tux made from Morroni Custom outside of Philadelphia. His friend used them and loved the experience. My favorite detail was his initials on his left cuff. Great touch especially with his new ring. Also, the pearl white cuff links and studs were a gift from Allison’s mom week-of!”

Top 3 Favorites

We love to ask each couple what their top 3 favorite moments were from their wedding day…the answers are always so sweet!

1) The ceremony – it felt so personalized to us and authentic. Josh and Allison wrote it themselves and wanted to equally and respectfully represent both of their religions.

2) Private last dance – any moment we had alone we loved!

3) Rehearsal dinner was so beautiful and emotional too
