Wedding Weekend Activities/Parties

Audrey & Andrew’s Wedding Weekend in Boca Grande: Boat Day

Boat Day in Cabbage Key

The Pre-Party

When Audrey and Andrew and their Belle Events team of planners hired us, we knew this wedding weekend was going to blow us all away just based on the ideas they dreamed up in our conversations.

Celebrating at their home-away-from-home, they were beyond excited to show friends and family who came in for the weekend just what Boca Grande island life is all about, and they kicked it all off with a boat day to nearby Cabbage Key.

The famous Cabbage Key Restaurant and the island that it sits on is only accessible by boat, helicopter, or seaplane, so naturally the answer was a boat trip so the entire group could enjoy the rides together.  And they even spotted dolphins along the way!

The Dollar Bill Bar

One of our favorite aspects of the restaurant was the famous “dollar bill bar” where 70,000+ people have signed and/or decorated dollar bills, then hung them up for safe keeping.  “The tradition started decades ago with local fishermen who would sign a dollar bill and tape or staple it to the wall so they always had money left behind for a future drink or bar tab.”  Throughout the year, some bills fall or get taken down, but restaurant management does donate more than $20,000 of them each year to local charities.

Tell Us!

We’d love to know what fun wedding weekend activities you have planned  (we may be biased, but we think they all deserve to be photographed).  Let us know!
