Stunning Wedding at The Houstonian Hotel

Stunning blue details were woven throughout Katherine and Paul’s December wedding at The Houstonian Hotel. Katie and Allyson of the KHP Collective team photographed their engagements and their wedding day! Blue is Katherine’s favorite color and you’ll see the color in her bridal details, blue cowboy boots, hydrangea bouquet, bridesmaids dresses, and throughout the reception decor!

Once Katherine and Paul were ready on the wedding day, we did their first look outside of the Manor House at The Houstonian. Right after their first look, they exchanged private vows with each other.

Reflecting on their wedding, Katherine said, “My favorite part of the wedding day was our first look and private vows. Paul had sent my Matron of Honor, Katie, a drawing of what he thought my dress was going to look like so being able to share that moment together was so fun. I could tell he was surprised by it! Our private vows were so special. I knew what I wanted to say in them for years, but I was so excited to hear Paul’s. He truly blew it out of the park. I reread them the next night and cried all over again.”

They had an outdoor ceremony in the meadow at The Houstonian with the majestic oak trees in the background. We made sure to set aside time in the evening to head outside for magical photos beneath the twinkling lights strung in the massive oak trees.

Wedding Reception at The Houstonian

For the wedding reception, everyone headed inside The Houstonian. Because their wedding was in December, they used a Christmas tree as their escort card stand. Guests picked up an ornament that had their name and table number on it. It was one of Katherine and Paul’s favorite details!

After the formal events, Katherine changed into her custom-made reception dress. She changed earlier in the night because she was so excited to wear it! After the formal events like the dances and cutting the cake, party mode was turned on! Katherine and Paul wanted to enjoy their reception together on the dance floor, and that’s exactly how they spent their night!

For their grand exit, guests covered them with white streamers as they made their way to their getaway car-a vintage blue Jeep!
