Will & Claire

Will and Claire’s destination wedding in the Bahamas was the perfect combination of tropical beauty and laid-back fun.  Exuma is their favorite place and they have known for years that they wanted to start their lives together there.  Marva Munroe, Owner of Chic Bahamas Weddings, helped them bring all of their dreams to life!

Wedding in the Bahamas

Will & Claire stayed true to themselves and their laid-back natures while planning their Bahamian weekend.  They wanted it to be both fun and memorable, and simple-yet-elegant.

The getting ready part of the day was just as much fun as the rest of the weekend!  All of the ladies stayed in one of the beautiful island villas and sipped champagne in fun matching outfits.  The guys took a boat out on the crystal blue waters and, once back and ready for the ceremony, hung out on a villa patio until it was time to go.

Claire first saw her Mira Zwillinger dress in 2020 and has been in love with it ever since!  She paired it with pearls that her dad gifted her mom on their wedding dat, and white Giuseppe Zanotti sandals for the ceremony, held at St. Andrew’s Church.  Wedding colors included beautiful yellow florals  at the church – Claire’s favorite color – and Exuma blue.

Wedding Reception in the Bahamas

For the outdoor reception at February Point Beach Club, Will & Claire wanted to let the beautiful beach landscape and stunning sunset be the stars of the show, so most decor came from soft lighting and light-colored table settings.  They opted for an intimate outdoor dinner with the ocean

After dinner guests were treated to a night of dancing to music from both the Expressions Entertainment band and DJ BGinns.  Claire had been nervous that energy might be low after 3 days of activities, but the dance floor was packed all night!  Both the band and the DJ said it was one of the most fun weddings they’ve ever done.

For the cake, they decided on a classic vanilla bundt cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, decorated with tropical flowers, to echo the simplicity and laid-back feel of the rest of the reception.

They topped off the evening by surprising their guests with a Junkanoo rush out, performed by The Crusaders.

Claire said one of her favorite details was her childhood blanket being woven into her gown!  And they both loved the cocktail swizzles with their Lab, Muffin’s, face on them.

Destination Wedding Photographer

Claire says, “The best piece of financial advice I received was to be very intentional with what you’re willing to splurge on and stick to a strong budget elsewhere. For me, I knew photography, fashion and entertainment were the most important.”

I was so honored to be their choice for a destination wedding photographer to splurge on!  In addition to the wedding, they also hired me to document their amazing boat day and also to do a honeymoon session the day after the wedding.  Both of these are coming to the blog soon as well!

The fashion and entertainment did NOT disappoint, either!  Will wore a Knot Standard suit and Gucci shoes for the duration, and Claire’s second outfit was an epic Patbo dress and Larroude heels for the after party.

The KHP Experience

Will and Claire left this sweet feedback about working with us: “I love how present and invested Kelly was in being there for every moment of our destination weekend. She went above and beyond to capture many of the most important moments of our life.  We will forever be grateful.  The teaser photos we’ve seen so far have completely exceeded our (and our friends and family’s) expectations.  It was the best and easiest decision to work with her and we have recommended her to everyone!!”
